Born and living in Hawaii, Harry experienced the surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

Harry volunteered for the army “all Japanese American unit” and was attached to the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion, the best artillery unit backup group of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

Harry remembers the battles he fought in Europe and people he freed in the concentration camps.
